ABOUT US
MORE THAN JUST A COFFEE HOUSE
Kākou is the Hawaiian value of inclusiveness. It means “all of us” and “we are in this together.” Kākou is very unifying when applied to language, and all are taught to learn, speak, and practice“the language of we.”
Depression, anxiety, stress, sadness and suicidal thoughts are realities many teenagers face, every single day. Kākou coffee will be a place where teens can gather for community, conversation, coffee, juice, music, and art, be welcomed as they are, and encouraged in who they want to become. All are welcome, everyone matters, everyone belongs. Kākou will also be a place where parents find resources including education on how to talk to teens about mental health issues, improve communication, and find parenting support. Kākou will also provide access to professional counselors
We are seeking investors to open Kākou Coffee in south Denver. Our proposed location is within 5 miles of the 1-25 and C-470 Intersection, central to 11,000 teenagers. Please contact Amy Mays: Amy@Kakoucoffeehouse.com for more information.
